Well the day is finally here, I am off to the airport to begin my 24 hour journey to Nairobi!  Somehow I managed to fit everything into my suitcase, but it wasn't easy as we will be doing quite the range of activities across various climates.

In Nairobi it is expected that we dress in business professional every day for the office, but weekends spent camping on safari, and possibly even at the beach.  The temperatures in Nairobi seem to be in the low 70s during the day, but down to the high 40s at night - and its rainy season so I can expect showers during the day!  When we head to the Massai Mara it will be a bit warmer.  So I have everything from suits to hiking and camping gear, rain coat and umbrella to bathing suit and cover up!  I hope I didn't forget anything, but luckily, this isn't my first rodeo with travel. #tbird4life #savedroomforsouvenirs #haventusedthebigsuitcaseinyears #ihopeemiratesdoesntlosemyluggage

Now I can sit back and enjoy my flight to Dubai, then onto Nairobi.  I have a lot of material to review to make sure I hit the ground running when I arrive.  But also looking forward to relaxing and reading my kindle.  Thanks to Bob on my team, I downloaded a book "Facing the Lions" by Joseph Lekuton.  It is a true story that takes place in Northern Kenya and the village we will be working with (Isiolo) is featured.  Can't wait to shut down the phone and laptop and dive in!
